MTAC bus shelter campaign
On the 24th March 2025 we launched our first bus shelter poster campaign in Birmingham using funds from our corporate partner NFP. With specially amended graphics, and the locations chosen for their high propensity of collisions between vehicles and people on bicycles we started with 3 sites - Bordesley, Harborne and Billesley. Changing designs and sites every 2 weeks to get the most eyes on the campaign we hoped to remind drivers of the humanity of the bike riders sharing the roads. The Birmingham campaign ran for 12 weeks at 7 different locations ( the most frequented area being Highgate, with 2 different sites) with 8 different images.
Then on 19th May 2025 , in collaboration with the Reframe Cycling Project, and The University of East Anglia student union we ran a 6 week bus shelter poster campaign in Norwich, over 8 sites across the city using 5 new images (and 3 existing ) to reflect the event and the areas we were targeting. Again the sites of the posters were chosen using the Department of Transport's Mapping application for visualising road injury casualties - highlighting locations near the University, schools, train stations and hospitals.

According to Clear Channel , the company we engaged to run this bus shelter poster campaign with us, we had 811410 "impacts" from the Birmingham campaign, and 676562 "impacts" from Norwich - that's means nearly 1.5 million people saw these posters from the end of March, to the end of June - let's hope that at least some of those drivers took our message on board, and are aware that people who ride bikes are More Than A Cyclist.
