MTAC goes to the university East Anglia

On the 29th May we took our campaign to the lovely campus of UEA in Norwich. Alex Flude from Reframe Cycling hosted us and we spent the day sharing our message of giving space to people who cycle with students and staff at the University. The visit had been timed to coincide with our bus shelter campaign launching in Norwich, which featured Alex and some of his fellow students in addition to others.

Whilst we were there we were interviewed by the alumni team (Rob was a student at UEA in the 1990s). We also discussed the campaign with the UEA campus/events team, who having seen the visuals we had organised in the main student union agreed for the campaign to go campus wide and that we work together on something timed for the intake of new students in October.

Our banners and images have remained on prominent display in the university and we hope our encouraging positive changes in how people who cycle are treated on the road.

We are also now looking at what a new students initiative could look like with the university as well as the wider support of British Cycling, Sustrans and the Council. More to come on this in coming months.
